Indonesian Earthquake Response
IRC responded immediately to the news of the earthquake on September 30th which measured 7.9 on the Richter Scale and brought devastation to the Indonesian city of Padang and the surrounding area.
An offer of help to the Indonesian government was accepted and IRC responded as part of a UN co-ordinated international response.


The 10 strong specialist team was led by Ray Gray and included team members from all over the UK.
Working in the city in hot and humid conditions, the team carried out a number of searches including a shopping mall, college and various office buildings to try to locate survivors.
