Boat Team Dispatched to Loch Awe (scotland)

A five person IRC boat team has been dispatched to Loch Awe, Scotland, to assist Strathclyde Police in their search for two men missing on the loch. Four men originally set out across Loch Awe in a small boat late on Friday night.  They ran into difficulties and two bodies were recovered early on Saturday morning - the other two are still missing and the search continues.

UPDATE (23/3/09): Team stood down for today - police dive dive team attending.

The corps mourns the loss of one of its members

It’s with sad regret that IRC has to announce the passing of Dot Maddocks, the beloved wife of long time operational member Dave Maddocks.  Dot was one of life’s characters and supported the Corps wholeheartedly by many hours of fundraising.  Dot will be sorely missed by everyone.
